Great female novelist Isabel Allende's The House of the Spirits is a Latin American fiction that acknowledges female power. In this novel female characters not only oppose the existing structure of male dominance, but also go beyond the traditional concern of feminism.Clara defies male dominance and wealth of aristocratic culture while her husband behaves very nonsensically and orders her to do according to his wish.Nivea stands against the man made rules and regulations and demands the equal rights for all women.Ferula also helps the women of Tres Marias to resist the male domination,in the same way other female characters also raise the voice to get their place.en_US
