| dc.description.abstract | Limbus, the inhabitants of eastern Nepal having their own ethnic, historical and typical socio-political identity are rich with unique linguistic and cultural assets. Regularly practiced ritual,Kelang–the drum dance has been researched from its philosophical and mythical perspectives. It involves drum-music, song, and performative bodily movements in happy occasions such as in wedding ceremonies, newly built house opening etc.,targeting the blessings and prosperities to be attained. Mundhum based Limbulife style and mythical aspects are not only projected in this performance,but also it hands down the glorious tradition to the new generations helping for promoting their culture and identity with distinction. | en_US |
