This thesis tries to explore animalistic instinct in Toni Morrison's novel The Bluest Eye focusing on instinctual and sensational lives of characters revealing their animalistic nature. Toni Morrison shows the violent nature and irrational behaviour of the characters through the activities like killing, quarrelling, fighting, backbiting, raping, hatred, subjugation, repulsion, anger, etc. She compares the callous and brutal nature of the characters with the nature of the animals through their activities. The researcher has focused on these aspects using naturalism as a methodological tool.en_US
