Abstract
In Tuesdays with Morrie, Mitch Albom's central character,Morrie Schwartz faces
a fatal disease a myotrophic lateral sclerosis(ALS). The author of the novel,in the form
of narrator undergoes a great psychological trauma caused by the death of the professor,
Morrie Schwartz. Mitch Albom depicts the reality of his traumatized psyche about his
professor to reduce the effect of the shock.The author wants to heal the pain of the
demise of his professor which here counts in the novel.In this memoir,he recollects the
memoirs from Brandies University to the funeral possession of the professor with various
flashbacks.When we delve into the text, it is an autobiographical novel of Morrie
Schwartz.The author presents this memoir what he discusses with his professor as a
narrator. They have discussed about the meanings of life.Every part of life becomes the
topic of their discussions.Every subject matter of the conversations is experienced by the
central character, Morrie.By the cause of the disease, he has to lose his professor and he
gets great psychological shock.Therefore the shock of the author is narrativized in this
novel to heal his psychological trauma.
