| dc.description.abstract | The thesis entitledPerception of Pre-Primary Level Teachers on MontessoriMethod in English Language Teachingis an attempt to find out the perception ofpre-primary level teachers on Montessori method in English language teaching. Themain aim of this studywas to find out whether pre-primary level teachers tooktheapplication of Montessori method positively ornot,whatthey feltusing Montessorimethod while teaching.It further aims at analyzing the role of Montessori method,Montessori based materials, role of teachers and learners while teaching Englishlanguage.Survey research design was employed for carrying out this research work.To meet the objectives of the study,forty teachers of pre-primary levelteachingindifferent Montessori schools inKathmandu valley, were selected to fill up thequestionnaireto obtain the data.The collected data were analyzed and interpreteddescriptively by using different tools such as percentage, figures etc.The findings ofthis study showed that maximum number of pre-primary level teachers positivelyperceivedthe application of Montessori method for teaching English.However,minimum number of teachers yet thoughtthat Montessori methodwas not needed forEnglish language teaching.This thesis has beendivided into five chapters: Introduction,Review ofrelatedliterature and Conceptual Framework, Methods and Procedures of the Study, Resultsand Discussions and Summary, Conclusions and Interpretation. The first chapterdeals with background, statement of the problem, rationale of the study, objectives ofthe study, significance of the study, delimitations of the study,and operationaldefinitions of the key terms. The second chapterpresentsthe review of relatedliterature, implications of the review for the study and the theoretical conceptualframework. The third chapter includes the design of the study, population and sampleof the study, sampling procedure, data collection tools, data collection procedures anddata analysis and interpretation procedure. The fourth chapter is concerned with theanalysis and interpretation of the obtained data from the field. The lastchapter has thesummary, conclusions of the study in which some pedagogical implications havebeen recommended to better the findings of this study as well as to strengthen suchfurther studies. | en_US |
