dc.description.abstractThis study entitled ‘Women Involvement in the Decision Making at the Local Level in Madi-Municipality’ was carried out in order to analysis the decision making role of social and economic sector and to identify the role of women in resource mobilization in their utilization. The objectives of this study are to explore the causing factors of women’s involvement in decision making at the local level as well as the consequences of women’s involvement in the decision making at the local level. This study is guided by the following data collection tools and techniques: interview schedule, observation method, focus group discussion, key informants information and case study. This study is mainly based on primary data collected from Madi rural manucipality-6. According to statistical table the total number of women of 670 is 242 sample sizes by using of purposive sampling techniques All collected data were checked, coded classified and tabulated to make more clear percentage were used to analyzed the different aspects related to this study. It was found that most of the women involved in household activities have low decision and policies making power and they have sub-ordinate role in family and society. They are deprived from their right and responsibility. They have low decision and policies making power due to their male counter parts. In major household activities, men played dominant role in decision making. The female who have higher education background and employed have higher decision making power than merely illiterate households. As our country is male dominant, males have superior status in most of the cases and female have to follow them. It was also found that females have low socio-economic status and these lay behind men in household decision making thus, if is essential to improve their ability and capacity of participate major in decision making process. Unless females are brought in the main stream development process, if it is impossible to develop society as well as the nation thus, the female have responsibility to complete the work they can’t decide at the moment, they have to ask for it. In conclusion, lack of education (illiterate) and male dominant society is the main reasons to be involved in household activities. Though there are many NGO and INGO etc. have to work empower and increase the policies and program to enhance the capability of female rather than involved in household activities and to improve to females decision and policies making power.en_US
