IMPACT OF MICROFINANCE IN POVERTY REDUCTION IN THE CONTEXT OF NEPAL

Abstract

The study is concern about the impact of microfinance on poverty reduction in the context of Nepal. This research specify the objective to analyze the impact of microfinance on poverty reduction in the context of Nepal. Poverty reduction and financial inclusion is one of the main task of microfinance. Microfinance plays vital role for the financial development of the developing country like Nepal. This paper is aimed at examining the impact of microfinance in poverty reduction in the context of Nepal. This research has employed descriptive and explanatory research design. Variables like occupation change, income generation, decision making, living standard, level of knowledge and economic status are taken as independent variables and poverty reduction, economic empowerment are taken as dependent variables. From this study it is found that there is significance impact of microfinance on poverty reduction in the context of Nepal.
