dc.description.abstract | The present Study entitled, "Perception of In-Service Teachers about NELTAfor Professional Development" aims to identify the perception of in-serviceteachers about NELTA for professional development and whether the in-service teachers (also NELTA members) apply the ideas learnt in the NELTAprogrammers in their professional life. This research is mainly based on theprimary sources of data, which was collected from the forty-five in-serviceteachers. All the teachers (45 teachers) were NELTA members from MorangNELTA branch. The teachers were selected by using non-random purposivesampling procedure. The data obtained from the respondents with the helpofthe questionnaire wereanalyzed and interpreted using simple statistical tools.The study shows that one can develop his better professionby joining hisrelated professional organizations. It was found that NELTA has been able todevelop professional awareness among the English teachers. Majority of theEnglish teachers(70%)wereapplying the lessonsfrom the activities ofNELTA in their real classroom. This study is divided into four chapters and other sub-chapters. The firstchapter deals with the concept of teacher professional development, need ofprofessional development for teacher, general elements for teacher professionaldevelopment, teacher professional development reports in Nepal, effective in-service teacher education: background issues, Nepal English LanguageTeachers' association (NELTA), activities of NELTA Morang branch–2009,review of the related literature,and significant of the study. The second chapterdeals with the methodology used in the study i.e. the sources of data,population of study, sampling procedure, tools, process of datacollection andlimitations of study. The third chapterconsists of the analysis andinterpretationof the data. The fourth chapter deals with the major findingsandrecommendations made on the basis of the analysis and interpretation of thedata. | en_US |
