Abstract
The present study titled "Perceptions of Secondary School Students towards the
Use of Movie Media in Listening Classes" was conducted to determine the
perceptions of secondary school students towards the use of film media in listening
classes. Survey design method was used to conduct this study. The researcher used a
series of open and closed questionnaires to conduct this study. The sample consisted
of 40 students from a secondary school in Gandaki R.M-4, Gorkha. Based on the
findings, it was found that students have a positive attitude towards the use of film
media in listening classes. Therefore, movies are one of the media that can be used to
develop and improve students' listening comprehension.
This study consists of five chapters. The first chapter deals with the introduction of
the topic which consists of the background of the study, problem statement, objectives
of the study, research questions, significance of the study, limitations of the study, and
operational definitions of the study and key terms. Chapter two contains a review of
relevant theoretical and empirical literature, relevance of the study and review, and
conceptual framework. Similarly, chapter three deals with the methodology and
procedures of the study and consists of the research design and methodology,
population, sample and sampling strategy, data sources, research instruments, data
collection procedures, data analysis and interpretation procedures, and ethical
considerations. Chapter four describes the analysis of the data and interpretation of
the results. Similarly, the final chapter deals with the findings, conclusions and some
pedagogical implications summarized from the analysis and interpretation of the data
collected for the research purpose, followed by a bibliography and appendix.
