dc.description.abstractThe thesis work entitledSocio-Economic Effect of Small Farmer DevelopmentProgram(a case study ofSuryodaya municipality ward no-1 ilam District)Thestudy has attempted to display the Status of socio-economic effect of ruraldevelopment program. It is a descriptive type of study based on primary data.Thecollection of primary data was done through different techniques like observation,interview, structured and unstructured questionnaire, interaction, and so on.Thecollection of secondary data was done through various published and unpublishedmaterials related to the subject matter of the study. The study was based upon the dataof female population who have been using entrepreneurs' services Suryodayamunicipality ward no-1 in Ilam district. The study was based upon SuryodayaMunicipality entrepreneurs' institutions.Small Farmer development programme Access to assets varies according to theindividuals’ socio-cultural and economic background and the location where theyhave been putting up their mats and stalls. It has found that those people among thehigher economic background and those who have been putting up their mats and stallsnearby marketing centres and super markets such as and have progressed much thanothers. Therefore, it can be concluded that location economic background play crucialrole for earning livelihoods in Suryodaya ward no1.Demonstration Effect As far as the demonstration effect is concerned; the Limbu ,Magar and Tamang have been leaving out their traditional dresses. Very few old areseen in their traditional dress like daurasuruwal for males and guniu choli (homemadeblack saree with red edge) for females. But the numbers of traditional dress wearingin Suryodaya municipality, to modernization schools and boarding school wereestablished in the area. Earlier the natives' household was composed of more thanthree generations. It reveals that there was a largely extended joint family in allsociety.To forward recommendation for making the suggest the alternative of employmentImproving Livelihoods Suryodaya municipality ward no.1 interfaces various positivedimensions of people’s livelihoods. In the case of Nepal, rural-urban migration isimportant for improving people’s livelihoods. As discussed in the previous section,poor and landless people migrate to urban centers for subsistence livelihoods, andsome better-off people migrate to gain and take monetary advantages in the cities.en_US
