The present research work entitled “Techniques Used by Trained and Untrained Teachers in Teaching Short Stories” was carried out to find out the techniques used by teachers in teaching short stories at intermediate level. I used both primary and secondary sources of data in this study. I randomly selected nine higher secondary schools and colleges. Thirty six students and twelve teachers from the colleges were selected using random judgmental sampling procedure. For the collection of primary data twelve teachers and thirty six students were distributed questionnaire and thirty six classes were observed.
