dc.description.abstractThe novelThe Outsideris based on the theme of the alienated outsider. In the novel, Camus takes the hero as a stranger and immoral type of character who is guided by irrational forces and also conditioned by hostile environment. Camus’s charactersin the novel sufferfrom alienation and estrangement from the societyand also seem quite indifferent towards their duties and activities. Throughout the novel, the characters behaviour and activities are compared with animal which is animalistic in nature.en_US
