| dc.description.abstract | The process of rehabilitation is of great importance in aftermath of any case of violence. If we are to overlook the acts and causes of violence for now, rehabilitation takes center stage in the present context for successful recovery for the survivors, be it either physically, mentally, socially, economically or all. In the aftermath of any untoward incident, be it a major disaster or a single case of domestic violence, many factors will influence the ability of the survivor to rehabilitate completely. Rehabilitation is extremely important to allow for the survivor to reintegrate in a dignified and safe manner back into their society. And when society itself is an obstacle in complete rehabilitation, we cannot neglect this stage without severe consequences. Violence can happen to anyone but in this paper, I am focusing on the rehabilitation of domestic violence against women as it is the most common forms of violence prevalent in our patriarchal society. Since it takes place in the domestic sphere and perpetrators are their own family members or spouse, it makes it even more difficult for survivors to rehabilitate when their own social milieu are the active or silent perpetrators of the violence against them. | |
