| dc.description.abstract | This research has attempted to explore the fact that Mahatma Gandhi’s life was hugely influenced by the philosophy of karmayoga of The Gita. Gandhi’s peaceful crusade against hatred and animosity was fortified by his firm conviction in non-violence and self-less action, which are the main forces of karmayoga. Gandhi devoted his whole life for the sake of humanity and became martyr for the same, but he never expected anything in return. His rejection of political power and position was motivated by the philosophy of karmayoga. Gandhi remained unperturbed under any circumstance and was never won over by sensory emotions. He had full grip over the sense organs and his mind was trained to perceive the world equanimously. Gandhi had assimilated the fact that yoga should not be made an excuse for lethargic gossip and retreat to indolence rather it must be the approach to serve humanity selflessly. Hence, in this research, the researcher has tried to assess Gandhi’s life in the criterion of karmayoga. | en_US |
