Abstract
This thesis explores the search of soul mate and freedom that the protagonist, Brida in Paul Coelho’s Brid aexperiences when she meets her boy friend Lorens, and her teachers Magus and Wicca. She learns the magic from her teachers as she believes in the supernatural powers and in the existence of God everywhere. Despite many challenges and hardships she continues her mission of meeting the soul mate that signifies the reincarnation of God in different manifestations. She is a representative character who stands for theCeltic people with the faith in the celebration of every moment everywhere in life. The study investigates into the novel to explore both philosophical and theological dimensions. The interaction among the characters such as Brida, Magus, and Wicca demonstrates the celebratory culture of Celts who freely enjoy life with strong faith in Jesus and Virgin Mary, the manifestations of God. The research uses Celtic spirituality as a lens to analyze the text and concludes that the characters portrayed in the novel seek for freedom to celebrate their life.
