Abstract
The research entitled Gaps Between Curriculum Objectives and Students' Achievementwith reference to reading skills was attempted to find out the gapbetween curriculum objectives and students' achievement in Rukum district with referenceto the reading skills andtheiranalyses. In this research, the researcherused both random and non random sampling procedures.Heused non-randomsamplingprocedurefor selecting four schools of Rukum district and randomsampling was used for selecting 20 students from each school.Thenthe researcherselected altogether 80 students.Theresearcher used testitemsastools of datacollection.Theresearcherparticularlyfound the following two findingsinthisresearchstudy:(i)The average gap in reading skill of secondary level was found29.12 i.e. 64.72 percent in Rukum district.(ii)The students of Rukum districtwerebetterin vocabulary than incomprehension. They werefound to be weakerin understandingof literary textand giving argument which were related toreading sub skill(no.4 and 8 i.e. R4/R8). The research is divided into four chapters. In the first chapter, introduction of therelated topic hasbeendescribed. In the second chapter,methodology of theresearch hasbeenmentioned. In the same way, chapter three is about analysis andinterpretation of the data which is the body of the research. The researcher hastabulated the result sheet at first and analysed it using simple statistical tool ofpercentage and mean. The fourth chapter has focused on findingsandrecommendations.
