dc.description.abstractThis study is on 'A Comparative Study on the Subject-Verb Agreement in Magar, Nepali and English Languages.' The researcher's prime objective, in this study, was to find out the S-V Agreement system of Magar language. To accomplish the objective of the study, the researcher consulted some Magar experts and verified the data. The researcher's main findings are: Magar verbs do not agree with the categories of Gender and Number but partially agree with the categories of number of all Persons. And there is only one honorific pronoun 'nāko' in Magar. This thesis comprises four chapters. Chapter one deals with introduction. It further presents the rules of S-V agreement found in Magar, Nepali and English. It also includes the review of the related literature, objectives of the study, significance of the study and definition of the specific terms. Chapter two deals with the sources of data, sampling procedure, process of data collection and limitations of the study. The researcher made use of both the primary and secondary sources of data. And, Purposive sampling was applied to carry out the study. Chapter three deals with the analysis and interpretation of data. Trilingual comparison was made to find out the similarities and differences of S-V Agreement system among Magar, Nepali and English languages. Chapter four deals with the findings and recommendations of the study. The findings were extracted from the thoroughly analysed and interpreted data. On the basis of the findings, appropriate recommendations were made for pedagogical implications.en_US
