dc.description.abstractEmpowerment is one of the effective approaches to upliftthecondition ofwomen.The GOs NGOs and INGOs are focusing on programs whichhelp women being empowered by giving them employment opportunityand various training exposures. The research is confined to the Non-government Organizations inPokhara valley which are providing opportunities for women to beindependent and for career development with different programs andprojects. This research has asserts whether those organizations aresuccessful to empower women and change their socio-economic status inthe society. In addition, the study has explored to what extent age,education,family support,organizationalsupport, training,mobilityanddecision making in various sphere of their professional and personal lifehave affected the process of empowerment. Based on the research objectives, the study has tried to trace the role ofnon governmental organizations (NGOs) in empowering working womenin different sectors and made them independent professionally. Thespecific objectives of the study were to identity the factors influencingprofessional women in different organizations and how the women arebeing benefited from different programs introduce by theseorganizations.The outcomes of the research are quiteencouragingasthe situationof female staff has improved as compared to that of adecade ago. However males are in permanent job holding higherposition in most of the organizations whereas females are in temporaryjob and holding non-officer positions. v The study shows that 11.86 percent of the women staff are holding theMaster degree and very few have technical backgrounds. It is worthmentioning that more than eighty percent of the women staffs have holdon income and manage household affair. In the male dominated societylike ours gender discrimination is very rampant in all the sectors. Butwith the change of time and media intervention through television,papers and radios, people have started providing equal opportunities towomen in every sector. There is the positive perception fromorganizations heads that female employee are equally capable if giveopportunities.en_US
