dc.description.abstract | This research offers the concept of ‘Bio-power’ as a means to critique the ethos of western technological development in Ishiguro’s Never Let Me Go. The research has only secondary interest in the problem of cloning. The researcher displays no great interest in the scientific or administrative details of cloning, even the extent of cloning remains ambiguous throughout the novel. The major concern of the research is that the clones seem to have very few particular clone-like characteristics, quite the contrary. The clones are normal, jealous, ambitious, but all their activities are scrutinized by the administration of the institution called Hailsham which symbolizes the control over population through medical gaze in modern era. | en_US |
