The present study entitled “Effectiveness of Using Videos in Teaching Listening” aimed at finding the effectiveness of videos in teaching listening skills. The study was conducted in Janata Higher Secondary School, Jhapa. Forty students were selected as sample using purposive non-random sampling procedure. The students were divided into experimental and control group after administering pre-test. The experimental group was taught using videos and the control group was taught using audio only for one month. A post-test was administered for both groups after one month. The average scores and marks of post-test of both groups were analysed and compared with pre-test scores. After the analysis of data, it was found that teaching through video was more effective in teaching listening skills than teaching listening without using videos. This study has contained five chapters. The first chapter is introductory part which deals with background of the study, statement of the problem, objectives of the study, delimitation of the study and operational definition of the key terms. Similarly, the second chapter deals with literature review, their implications and conceptual framework for the study. The third chapter deals with the methodological aspects of the study. It deals with design and method of the study, population, sample and sampling strategy, research tools, sources of data, data collection procedures, data analysis procedures and ethical considerations. Likewise, the fourth chapter deals with the analysis and the interpretation of the data. Data is analyzed and interpreted descriptively using statistical tools. The facts are presented in different lists and tables in different form. Furthermore, the fifth chapter deals with the conclusion part of the study along with summary and recommendations. Finally, references and appendices are attached at the end to form a complete study.en_US
