Abstract

This thesis entitled "Role Of Tourism In Rural Development In Dhankuta (A Case Study of Vedetar VDC)” is divided in six different chapters and concentrated on socio economic contribution of tourists in Vedetar VDC and identify the strengths and weakness of tourism industries in Dhankuta and its nearby area as well as socio-economic impact tourism in there. This study showed that most tourists visiting (33.3%) Natural beauty, (22.2%) sight seeing and trekking/photography, (11.1%) sun rise and sunset/Research purpose. The first information of vedetar by Tourist are (44.4%) Media, (22.2%) Friends and tourism organization, (11.1%) Relatives. It states out of the total tourists plan hotel owners 60 percent are male and rest are female respondents. Similarly, the occupation of the tourists is trade and commerce (22.2 %), Teaching (22.2%), institutions (33.3%) and study (22.2%). In case of their nationality, majority are from India (33.3%). It is because of the boarder country also. Other is domestic (33.3%), Australian (11.1%), UK (11.1%) and American (11.1%) in the study population. The 66.6 percent tourists is agree in service satisfaction, 33.3 percent are disagree. In the present time there found certain change that host culture is replaced by the western culture. News are published girl friend and boy friend are came there purpose of dating. In this case, Vedetar is introduce "Ghanta Hotel" this is a bad image of Vedetar and tourism sectore. Basic tourism infrastructures, road, accommodations, drinking water, etc are very essential for tourism development. So it should be established as soon as possible. Majority of the inhabitants of local people settled by ethnic groups. Their culture should be conserved and promoted tourism in this area.
