Abstract

The fundamental aim of this study is to analyze and evaluate the heroic features of Anton Chekhov’s work “The Bet”, “In Exile”, “The Man in a Case”. Also, it attempts to detect the features of heroism in the legendary writer Chekhov concerned on the main reasons for which the author wrote stories. In addition the protagonists’ happiness is more valuable although in an adverse situation. The protagonists in different stories have the similar nature of adjusting themselves in a difficult situation. The ability of the protagonists being happy without worldly important things such as money and other physical materials is mainly focused. The study is based on an analytical thematic method based on extracting the main heroic events and analyzing them. On the whole, through this analytical study it is necessary to think that Chekhov skillfully succeeded in portraying his characters that were incarnated by heroic features to the completeness.
