| dc.description.abstract | The present study entitled 'A Study on Continuous Assessment System (CAS) inPrimary Level English' was aimed to find outthe effectiveness ofContinuatorsAssessmentSystemand some behavioural realities about CAS with the helpofprimary teachers' recent and fresh experience about CAS. The study carried outusing both primary and secondary sources of data. In this research, purposive non-random sampling procedure was used to select fifty teachers from governmentaided schools of Salyan district. A questionnaire was used as the tool for dataelicitation about CAS in primary school. The major finding of this study isthatcontinuous assessment system is an effective tool in primary level than traditionalevaluationsystem. This study consists of four chapters. The first chapter consists of generalbackground under which different sub topics such as beginningofEnglishlanguage teaching, meaning and purpose of assessment,language teaching andtesting,approaches to language testing, types of language testing and qualities of agood test are included. The final parts of this chapter are review of the relatedliterature and significance of the study. The second chapter deals with themethodology applied in the study, the sources of data, sample population,sampling procedures, tools and procedures of data collection. The chapter alsostates the limitation of the study. The thirdchapter presents analysis andinterpretation. The fourth chapter consists of the findings and recommendationbased on the analysis and interpretation of data. References and appendices areattached at the end. | en_US |
