A Comparitive Study of the Mathematics Achievement of SLC Result of Kaski and Tanahun Districts of Nepal

dc.description.abstractThis research was carried out in Kaski and Tanahun districts both representing the hilly area but kaski is the one of the biggest city of Nepal and Tanahun is neighbouring district of Kaski, backward district in comparison to Kaski. This research was done for the mathematics achievement of those regular students, who appeared in SLC examination from 2061 to 2065. All the students are categorized accordingly to different variables such as gender (boys and girls), area (Rural and Urban) and caste (Janajati and Gair-Janajati). The number of boys and girls students from rural area and urban area and Janajati and Gair-Janajati are respectively 450 and 450,300 and 300, 280 and 300 from Kaski . Similarly, above variable are measured as 450 and 450, 400 and 400, 300 and 300 from Tanahun district respectively. This research was carried out considering marks scored by the regular students in compulsory mathematics is SLC examination from 2061 to 2065. Secondary data were collect from related schools and District Education Offices of Kaski and Tanahun. On the basis of achievement test scores after analysis and interpretation based on the above data the researcher found the following findings. i. Significant difference in mathematics achievement has been inspected between all variable (boys and girls, urban and rural, Janajati and Gair-Janajati) of Kaski. ii. No significant difference in mathematics achievement has been inspected between all variable (boys and girls, urban and rural, Janajati and Gair-Janajati) of Tanahun. iii. No significant difference in mathematics achievement was found in Boys students, Girls students, Rural students, Gair-Janajati students between Kaski and Tanahun districts. But other variables, have signicicant difference in achievement of SLC results in mathematics students between Kaski and Tanahun districts. iv. Significance different observed between the students of Kaski and Tanahun while comparing them as a whole. v. By using ANOVA test, it is found significant difference between the achievement of each variable and between the each yearly result of these variables of both Kaski and Tanahun.en_US
