The issueof the Jewish identity and cultural marginality is the burning subject matter in the present research entitled “Jewishness in Herzog in Saul Bellow’sHerzog”. Jewish identity is a way out to maintain the identity of the protagonist Herzog who is sufferingfrom cultural marginality in the American society. The research totally revolves around the periphery of Jewish identity of the protagonist Herzog. Finally, the research is concluded with the point that Herzog’s return to own root is a way out to maintainhis own identity. Own root is one of the sources of the happiness in the life of the protagonist Herzog. Cultural criticism is one of the best methodologies to study the cultural and social aspect of the human beings, so it has been applied in this research to prove that return to own root is a way out to maintain the identity.en_US
