This research attempts to explore the evil human nature through William Faulkner's novel,Sanctuary. So, the study is an exploration into human nature with the concomitant discovery of evil because the protagonist of thenovel, Horace Benbow, discovers in several other characters, with increasing horror, that evil is rooted in the very nature of human beings. In order to prove this hypothesis, different aspects of evil are discussed as methodology. As the characters go onkilling, raping and other violent spree, darker side of human beings is explored.en_US
