Item Deixis system in English and eastern Magar language(Department of English Education, 2022) Thapa, SujataThis research entitled 'DEIXIS SYSTEM IN ENGLISH AND EASTERN MAGAR LANGUAGE'' has tried to carried out the deixis system in English and Magar language. The data were collected from the fifty native speaker of the Magar Language by using random sampling procedure. The informants for this study have been selected from the ward no. 2 of itahari-2, Sub Metropolitiancity, Sunsari. The data were collected with the help of questionnaire and interview. The sources of data for English were collected from different books thesis dictionaries and article. This is divided in to five chapter the first chapter introduction includes the background statement of problem, objectives of the study research question of the key term chapter second deals with the theoretical literature empirical literature, implication and conceptual frameworks. The third chapter conceptual frameworks. The third chapter deals with the methodology employed to conduct the study. The method and procedures of the study incorporable the research design population sample and sample strategy, study areas and tools data collection tools and techniques data collection procedure and data analysis and interpretation procedure come under in third chapter. Chapter four is the main body of the research. if includes the presentation of data and result and discussion of the data . it presents the data deceptively and in the from of graps and tables. The fifth chapter deals with the conclusion and recommendation some implicates of the study in policy level practice Level and further research are presented in this section. This chapter is followed by reference and appendices to make scientific, valid reliable and authentic.Item Effectiveness of Homework in Teaching English to the Lower Graders(Department of English Education, 2019) Shah, MeeraThis research work attempts to find out Effectiveness of Homework in Teaching English to the Lower Graders (sixth Grade) of Sunsari District in a variety of test items. To carry out this research work, the researcher has prepared the test items including different test items related to the text book of standard sixth. Then a pre-test was administrated to a number of 40 students in order to find ability of the students. Then, students were divided into two groups. Finally, after a month of teaching post-test was administered to the both groups. The sources of data were 40 students from Bha. Si Secondary School of Sunsari District (sixth graders only). After the administration of both tests, the answer sheets of the students were collected, analyzed and score of both groups were compared. It has been found that this research shows that 'Experimental' group performed relatively better in every aspect of language, that is 'Experimental' group has got 18.575 more average percentage than 'Control' group in post-test. So it can be said that encouraging students to do home work is relatively better for language learning. This research study consists of five chapters. The first chapter introduction contains general background, statements of the problems, rational of the study, objectives of the study, research questions, significance of the study and delimitations of the study. Similarly, second chapter deals with review of the related literature, implication of the reviewed literature and conceptual framework. Chapter three is about methods and procedures of the study which consists of design of the study, sources of data, population of the study, sampling procedures, data collection tools and procedures, process of data collection and data analysis and interpretations. Fourth chapter deals with results and discussions of the data. Finally fifth chapter consists of findings and recommendations of the study. Reference and appendices are presented at the end of this report.Item Relationship between mothers' education level and children' English language learning achievement(Department of English Education, 2023) Rai, JayakalaThis research report entitled ‘Relationship between Mothers’ Educational Level and Children’s English Language Learning Achievement’ was conducted with the aim of exploring the relationship shared by mothers’ education level and their children’s English language achievement. For this purpose, three different private schools located in Itahari sub-metropolitan city, namely Pathibhara Secondary School, Chamunda Bhagawati Secondary School and Shepherd Secondary School were selected randomly for the target population. And, altogether 81 participants studying in grade-5 were sampled by employing simple random sampling procedure taking 27 participants from each. Correlational research design was used in order to accomplish this study. Similarly, close-ended questionnaires as well as the grade sheets of the participants prepared by the concerned institutions were used as the tools for data collection. The data was analyzed by employing two different methodologies, i.e. Chi Square Test and percentage. The research analysis revealed the children of highly educated mothers performing very well in English tests whereas the children of low-educated mothers were found performing poorly irrespective of their gender. Therefore, it concluded that there exists a significant relationship between mothers’ education level and their children’s English language achievement where gender observes insignificant role with reference to their English language achievement. This study consists of five chapters. Each chapter further consists of different sub-headings. The first chapter is an introductory part. It includes general background, research questions, objectives, statement of the problems, hypothesis, relevance and significance of the study and delimitations of the study. The second chapter deals with review of related theoretical and practical literature as well as conceptual framework. Likewise, the third chapter is composed of design of the study, sources of data, sample population, sampling procedure, tools of data collection, data collection process and data analysis and interpretation procedures. The forth chapter consists of results and discussion. It includes analysis and interpretation of both Chi Square Test and percentage. In the same way, the fifth chapter includes conclusion and implications.Item Students' performance on guided writing(Department of English Education, 2023) Karki, Dambar BahadurNot availableItem Techniques of teaching speaking skills used by secondary level English teachers(Department of English, 2023) Katwal, JamunaThe research entitled "Techniques of Teaching Speaking Skills Used by Secondary Level English Teachers" is an attempt to find out the different techniques that the Secondary Level teachers use in teaching speaking skill. For this research study the researcher selected 6 government and 6 private schools of Sunsari District. All the teachers were requested to fill up the questionnaire prepared by the researcher. And the researcher observed the classes of twelve teachers while they were teaching speaking skill by applying various techniques and filled up the observation check-lists. The data collected from the teachers of secondary level schools were compared, analyzed and interpreted to find out the differences of techniques. A variety of teaching techniques were used by teachers to teach speaking skill at grade 12, with role play being the most commonly used technique. Other techniques, such as acting, dramatization, mock presentation, personification, simulation, communication, dialogue, and group work, were also used to varying degrees. This indicated that teachers used diverse methods to engage students and improve their speaking skill. Puppets or being a ventriloquist, acting, dramatization, drilling, imitate/caricature, latest drama technique, mime, and simulation were the most rarely used techniques. Drama activities were popular techniques among teachers for teaching speaking skill in grade 12. It indicates that this method was considered effective in enhancing students' speaking abilities. The researcher found that using interactive techniques, such as role play and dramatizing, effectively engaged students in speaking activities and improved their speaking skill. This thesis consists of five chapters. The chapter five deals with conclusion and recommendations.Item Use of Recorded English Songs to Improve Pronunciation(Faculty of English Education, 2015) Neupane, Chandra KalaThis research entitled “Use of Recorded English Songs to Improve Pronunciation” has been carried with the aim of finding out students’ pronunciation improvement through recorded English songs at primary (five graders) level. The research is mainly based on the primary sources of data. The sample size of the study consisted of 28 students studying at grade five in Shree Karmaveer Secondary School, Hattimuda-3, Morang.As it is an experimental research, the students had been divided into experimental and controlled groups. The required data were collected by using test items. It was found out that the experimental group that was taught by using recorded English songs achieved better marks than the control group that was taught as usual. The data were analyzed using simple statistical tools as well as ‘t-test’ was carried out too. This thesis has been divided into five chapters. Within the first chapter ‘Introduction’; background of the study, statement of the problems, rationale of the study, objectives of the study, significance of the study and delimitations of the study and operational definition of the key terms have been presented. Likewise, the reviews of the related literature, theoretical and conceptual frameworks have been included in the second chapter. The methods and procedures of the study incorporated with research design, study population, sampling procedure and other related components have been presented in the third one. The fourth chapter has dealt with results and discussion. On the basis of analysis and interpretation of the data some findings of the study was drawn. Summary, conclusion and implications have been presented in fifth chapter. Final part of the thesis includes references and appendices.
