Acknowledgement of cultural, economic and social differences makes the characters fickle in their decisions as to whether to accept or disdain their culture. Rukmani represents the strength and perseverance of the traditional Indian culture; she tries to retain its beliefs and customs even though the times of changes and adversity. She has innate respect, reverence and love towards her culture of origin. Consequences of westernization, good and bad are illustrated within this text to highlight the global occurrences of this period. It is a case study of CFUG, Balkumari forest of Ugratara VDC, Kavre. This study has attempted to highlight the socio-economic impact evaluation aspect of community forest in Ugratara. The general objectives of this study were to discover socio-economic impact as well as benefit of community forest. Both primary and secondary information were used in study. The sample of households was selected randomly. Data were collected from household survey, interview and observation. The main tool of subsistence was agriculture of the selected respondents. Households kept large number of livestock such as buffalo, cow, goat, pigs etc. Among them Balkumari CFUG was established in 2058 B.S. which covers ward No.1 & 6 of Ugratara VDC. Among the user respondent, high majority of users were Brahmin & Chhetries. There were also other caste groups like Newar, Tamang, Gurung, etc. Users were using forest product on equal basis. Collecting fund from every household (users) was a significant aspect. One Jungle guard was selected form the users group. Income of the forest is found to mobilize in infrastructure development of the concerned area. The positive impact was found like incensement on livestock, cash crops and vegetables production, increment on water resources and natural beauty are other advantages of this area. The most important thing to highlight about Balkumari Community Forestry Users Group committee is that it is executed & managed totally by the women. All 13 members of the management committee are women and they are successfully executing the activities which have been the source of inspiration for the women of other societies too. Users were identified on the basis of traditional use of forest. Most of the user respondents are found that they are only partially dependent upon forest products. FUGC is working as a main body of the forest. It is giving equal opportunity to women. Women participant in both FUGC and FFS looks significant. Positive impact has been seen in income generating activities through agriculture and animal husbandry. Apart from this, positive impact has been seen in education, participation, rural tourism and awareness enlistment.Item Use of cost reduction tools in Nepalese manufacturing organizations(Department of Management, 2013) Sapkota, PrakashNot availableItem Use of Self-Access Centre Forlearner Autonomy(Department of English Education, 2014) Sapkota, PrakashThe present research entitled"Use of Self-Access Centre for LearnerAutonomy"is an attempt to find out the relationship between the students'SAC use and their autonomous language learning and to find out teachers'attitude on SAC learning. It further aimed to investigate whether the learners ofB.Ed. level make use of self-accesscentres or not. The researcher tried to findout the impact of self-accesscentres in the students' autonomous activities.Both the primary and secondary sources of data have been used in this study.Descriptive and analytical study design along with both qualitative andquantitative data have been used in this study. A sample of eight B.Ed. levelcollege from Kathmandu andLalitpur districts have been taken by usingpurposive non-random sampling. The researcher selected ten students and oneteacher from each college. The study found out that the use of SACs playsthesignificant role to develop learner autonomy. The study also reflected thatmajority of the students i.e. 85% are aware of learning English language andthey are succeeded through the use of SACs. They do a lot of self practice toimprove and enhance their English. From the study it was also found out that80% ofthe learners made use of reference materials and 75% of them usedelectronic devices in their English language learning process. Majority of thelearners were highly conscious of using SACs to be autonomous learners. The present study is divided into five chapters. The first chapter deals withintroduction which consists of general background, statement of problem,rationale of the study, objectives of the study, research questions, significanceof the study, delimitations of the study and operational definition of the keyterms. Chapter two comprises review of related literature which includesreview of empirical literature, implication of review for the study andconceptual framework. Chapter three introduces methods and procedure of thestudy, which encompasses design of the study, population and sample,sampling procedure, data collection tools, data collection procedure and dataanalysis and interpretation procedure. Chapter four deals with result anddiscussion of the collected data. Chapter five incorporates summary,conclusions and implication of the study. References and appendices areincluded at the end of the study.
