Item Knowledge and Perceptions of Adolescent Girls on Reproductive Health (A Case Study of Kalika Higher Secondary School, Pokhara)(Department of Population Studies, 2007) Bhandari, KamalaThis study is based on the primary data collected from field survey including 139 sampled adolescents girls students aged 15-19 years of higher secondary school. Among of them 119 girls were selected by systematic random sampling and 20 were selected for the purpose of focus group discussion. Reproductive health is vital component of overall health, which is considered as a great subject of concern all over the world. Reproductive health is an area in which adolescents are particularly vulnerable. Due to the interplay of biological, socio cultural and traditional barrier to the information and inaccessibility of the services with regard to the sexual and reproductive health, they have to faced various vulnerable situation such as early pregnancy, unsafe abortion, risk of STDs including HIV/AIDS, adolescents maternal mortality etc. In this context, this study tries to analyse the knowledge and perception of adolescents on reproductive health. From this study, it is observed the level of their knowledge and perception on reproductive health and its education is quite satisfactory. They also well informed in this issues such as STDs including HIV/AIDS routes of transmission and its preventing measures, unsafe abortion, maternity care and infertility. The study also deals with the variation among students in terms of age.Item Knowledge on Reproductive Health and Sexual Behavior among Higher Secondary School Student(Department of Health Education, 2017) Sah, SaraswatiThis is entitled “Knowledge on Reproductive Health and Sexual Behavior of High Secondary Level School Student”. The main objective of this study was to find out the knowledge on reproductive health and sexual behavior among students of higher secondary school of Siraha District. This study was based upon descriptive type on qualitative and quantitative research. Out of 1116 student only 316 number of student have taken the simple random sampling technique was used to select student. All the information based upon questionnaire schedule. This thesis was stretched into five parts. First part deals with the introduction of the title and it’s theoretical background. Second part reviews the related of the relevant work. Third part deals with methodology of the study. Fourth part deals with analysis and interpretation of data. Fifth parts deal with summary finding conclusion and recommendations. In this research majority of respondents 32.91 percent were from age of 18 years. Similarly 56 percent of respondents were from grade 11 class, 75.32 percent of respondents were unmarried, 63.93 percent of respondents father occupation is agriculture, 77.63 percent of respondents were from joint family, 38.92 percent respondents have knowledge about age at marriage , 57.60 percent respondents said that immediate after marriage for going birth, 31.01 percent of respondents had knowledge about age will be start sex, 84 percent respondents help better knowledge about monarch, 40.82 percent gave right answer that 9 to 18th days of menses is high risk period of getting pregnant, 66.46 percent of respondents have better knowledge about supplementary food and there were more conscious about the important supplement Given for the prevention from anemia Vitamin ‘A’ .77 percent had, knowledge about pre-marital sex, 65 percent said pre-marital sex is not good, 32.91percent said that home sexual is abnormal sexual behaviors, 72.89 percent had knowledge effect of pre-marital sex, 43.16 percent respondents first source of TV from information about pre-marital sex, 57.91 percent had knowledge about S.T.D.S, 91.14 percent gave incorrect answer from routes, and all the students agreed to include that topic about reproductive health and sexual behavior is essential to included in text book. Based on the above finding and conclusion it is recommended that programs aiming at the disseminating of information about Reproductive health and sexual behavior should include adequate message on the Reproductive health and sexual behavior knowledge in related intervention program should e focused through election mass media, special health education and seer education program. Should be extensive and continuously implement to maintain the knowledge and attitude of health education and counseling survive to the student should be ensured ensure so as to achieve the expected the level of knowledge on reproductive health and sexual behavior, further study can be conduct in a large population for rural and development area.Item Males Involvement in Some Aspect of Reproductive health in Tharu Community (A Case Study of Daulatpur V.D.C Bardiya District)(Department of population studies, 2010) Upadhayay, Sanjeev KumarABSTRACTThis study is on the primary data obtained from field survey. Whole information is based on 111 respondents selected from Tharu community for interview. Onlymarriedmales aged 15–40 were selected for interview.This is descriptive type of study designed to explore the information on maleinvolvement in reproductive health in Tharu communities. Major three components ofReproductive Health(i) Family planning, (ii) Maternal health and (iii) STIS andHIV/AIDS were included in the study.Highest percent of the respondents were in age group 25-29 i.e. 26 percent of the totalsample (respondents). All of the respondents were currently married with singlespouse. Majority of the respondents were illiterate. Agriculture was the majoroccupation of the respondents.Although the majority of respondents have heard about family planning methods.Male methods were the popular methods of the all family planning methods. In manycase of family planning such as use of contraceptive, decision making process for useof contraceptive, males were found co-operative.Male involvement in maternal health was comparatively poor in Tharu community.The practice of ANC and PNC service was relatively poor. Small but remarkableproportions of Tharu women’s ages at the first birth is earliest and mean CEB wasfound higher. Interestingly, the popularity of nuclear family has made someimprovements over the past conditions of Tharu women.Majorityof the respondents reported to have heard about STIS and HIV/AIDS. Thepopular media of information was radio. Most of the respondents agreed that STISand HIV/AIDS are transmitted from unsafe sexual intercourse. Majority ofrespondents would seekmedicaltreatment in case of STIS. They would also inform topartner and support partner for treatment.Item A Study of Sexual and Reproductive Health Problems among Married Women Visiting Community Hospital(Faculty of Health Education, 2016) Phayal, Purna PrasadABSTRACT Sexual and Reproductive Health is a state of complete physical, mental and social well-being and not merely the absence of disease or infirmity in all matters relating to its functions and processes. This study is centered to the sexual and reproductive health situation of married women. The main objective of the study was to find the sexual and reproductive health problems of married women. This study was based on descriptive research design, using quantitative data. For the purpose of the study both the primary and secondary data were used. The respondents for the thesis were in total 150 women visiting Okhaldhunga Community Hospital Okhaldhunga. Purposive sampling was used to select the sample women. Interview schedule was the main tool for the collection of data. Out of the various problems related to the sexual and reproductive health among the married women, reproductive tract infection is higher. In general, husbands have no positive attitude to wives who are suffering from sexual and reproductive problem. About 26.66 percent respondents have reproductive tract infection which is followed by urinary tract infection, that is, 20 percent and menstruation problem 19.33 percent. Similarly, 17.33 percent of the respondents have problems related to breasts and 13.33 of them uterine problems. In the same way majority of the respondents were found to have visited native doctors first, seeking for treatment when the problem appeared. In conclusion, it clearly shows that the sexual and reproductive health problem among the married women is a challenge. But the response to the problem is not satisfactory. The research work also includes some recommendations to improve the situation of women's problems. Education is a key component that creates awareness to the married women. Moreover, seminars, workshops, trainings and awareness programmes should be conducted in addition to print media, radio, television and other modes of mass communication to improve reproductive status.
