The sample of the study consisted from Tribhuvan UniversityKirtipur, Kathmandu. The data were collected fromquestionnaireand interview.Altogether 100 students wereconsidered as the sample (85 boys and 15 girls) by random sampling strategy. For this, a set of questionnaire was developed as the tool.To collectthe data from interview guideline four students were selectedusingpurposive sampling method. The attitude of students measured in the five categories rating scale of Likert. The collected data was tabulated and analyzed by using SPSS software to get thevalue of statistics χ 2 -test, percentage, mean and standard deviationand t-testfor objective first and second respectively. The findings, mean value ofboy’sstudents is 301.18 andgirls students is54.18.In the comparisonof boys andgirl’sattitudet-valueof thestatements was6.31whichdoes not lie its tabulated value 1.96. So, alternate hypothesis is rejected. This shows that there is significance difference between the attitude ofboy’sstudents and girls students. The study concluded thatthere is a positive attitude towards ICT in mathematics education and significance difference between the attitude ofboy’s andgirl’sstudents towards ICT in mathematics education. It is also concludedthat there is well designed course, sufficient materials and equipment’s in ICT lab, effective learning activities, goodinternet access and evaluation system of ICT in mathematics education.Item Attitude of Students towards present Optional Mathematics Course(Department of Mathematics Education, 2019) Bist, Mahendra KumarThe study entitled “Attitude of Students towards Present Optional Mathematics Course” aims to find out the attitude of students towards present optional mathematics course and to differentiate boys and girls students towards present optional mathematics with way improving positive attitude of students,in order to fulfill the objective of study. The researcher selected all secondary level students of academic year 2076 ofKailalidistrict as a population. The researcher used the data, questionnaire and interview as a tools to collect data. After thecollection data, the searcher analyzed and interpreted the data in the weighted mean, t- test and percentage form and presented them in table. The finding of the study show that there is positive attitude of students towards present optional mathematics course. There were significant differences between attitude of boys student and girls students towards present optional mathematics course at secondary level. The way of making positive attitude of students towards present optional mathematics course areteaching use daily life activities, give job opportunity, future opportunity, teaching learning connecting with historicalevidence, problem based teaching, teaching using discussion method, teaching multi- method and play method. The number of HIV positive cases has been suggested up to 22,968, as the official data (NCASC, Dec. 2013).However, the other sources estimate a much larger number of people infected by HIV alone. Therefore, it seemed necessary to have research on to what extent the adolescent students are aware about these diseases. This study is based on the primary data collection from two secondary schools of rural areas of Chitwan district of Central Development Region of Nepal. The major objective of the survey study is to examine the knowledge, attitude on STDs and HIV/AIDS among school adolescents. To meet this objective, 122 respondents are selected from two secondary schools. Among them 70 are boys and 52 are girls, within the age range of 14-20 years. The knowledge on STDs -HIV/AIDS is found higher on boys than on girls. The background variables such as parent's education, occupation, land holding size, yearly income and mass media facilities have impact on the level of knowledge and attitude.Almost all of the respondents have reported that they have heard about STDs and HIV/AIDS. The adolescents have reported that teachers, textbooks, radios, TV and magazines are the main sources of information on STDs and HIV/AIDS. In every respect related to sexual knowledge, the boys seem more aware than the girls. The main reason behind this may be that the girls do not have opportunity to education and they have to involve in household works. Similarly, unmarried adolescents are more aware on STDs and HIV/AIDS than the married ones. Hundred percent of the respondents believe that STD is transmitted through sexual contact and respondents say that using condom is the true method for preventing AIDS transmission. According to them the safest method of family planning is condom. The adolescents have reported that though the lessons on HIV/AIDS have been includedin the course, the teachers cannot effectively explain the matter and cannot make thestudents properly knowabout it. The main reason behind this, according to them, may bethe teacher’s lack of sufficient knowledge as well as their hesitation to talk on the matter very clearly. All of the respondents have mentioned that they need knowledge about STDs, HIV/AIDS,sex and family planning methods.Item The relationship between attitude and achivement in mathematics(Department of Mahematics Education, 2016) Sha, Ram AchalThere have been a number of studies investigating how attitudes affect students’ academic achievement. This study was conducted to identify specifically the relationship between ninth grade students’ attitudes and their achievement in mathematics. Gender was studied to determine its effect on attitude and achievement. Furthermore, three types of attitude cluster were studied including pupils’ confidence, math usefulness, and attitude about math teacher to determine their effects on achievement. A total of 119 students as sample from nine community secondary schools of Dhanusha district were selected by multistage random sampling techniques. To gather the data a questionnaire based on a five point Likert scale was administered. The data were analysed descriptively using percentage, graphs and Pearson’s correlation coefficients was used to determine relationship between attitude and achievement in mathematics. Multiple regression model was determined to observe the relationship between the three clusters of attitude with achievement in mathematics. Independent sample T- test was used to test whether gender affect attitude and achievement in mathematics. The results indicated that there is a significant relationship between attitudes and achievement in math (r=0.548). Considering gender, males (32.63) had a slightly positive attitude towards math compared to females (31.88) however not statistically significant but the achievement in mathematics of males (26.90) was higher than females (22.41) and this difference in achievement was significant. Lack of confidence (60.5%) was the major problems associated with attitude affecting learning and performance in mathematics.Item Students’ Attitude Towards Homework in Mathematics Learning(Department of Mathematics Education, 2020) Saud, Janak BahadurThe research entitled “students‟ attitude towards homework in mathematics learning” Has been done to find out the secondary students‟ attitude towards homework and to identify motivational and de-motivational factors that influence homework. This research was focused on Grade IX students. The grade IX students are those who are newly entered in secondary level. Due to level change (entered Basic level to Secondary) they should have study more course and they should do more practice of extra books of mathematics and need more time. To fulfill the desire of the research cross-sectional survey were applied for collecting data. 200 students were selected as the sample population from 7 different schools who were studying in Grade IX from Kathmandu valley by random sampling technique. Opinionnaire and interview was applied as the primary data collection tools. MS Excel 2016 were used to analyze the data obtained from the opinionnaire and the thematic approach were applied to analyze data obtained from interview. Generally, students found positive about the homework. Homework helping them to get more marks in exam and to meet short term goals. But also, sometimes students are feeling bore with homework when they don‟t have clear concept about content. They are taking homework as burden when it is extra and in festival period. This research is mostly useful to students for developing study habit and to manage the time and to teachers for giving homework by scientific approach. Also, it is helpful to researchers, curricular developers, planners, policy makers as well as all stakeholders.
