Thedifference was detectedfrom the comparison of the results of two tests. It has beenfound that the students underexperimental group haveperformedbetter in post-testthan controlled groupwhich means grammar teaching through text produced betterresult than grammar teaching through individual sentences. This thesis consists of four chapters, chapter one introduces study in termsof generalbackground, literature review, objectives of the study and significance of the study, chapter two deals with the methodology whichis adopted for the study. Methodologyconsists of the topics like, sources of data, study population, sampling procedure, toolsfor data collection, procedures for data collection and limitationsof study. Chapterthree presents the analysis and interpretation of the collected data. In this chapter, dataare analyzed and interpreted through statistical and descriptive approach. The research entitled "ICT in the Professional Development of Mathematics Teachers: A Narrative Inquiry" proposed to dig out the praxis of ICT on the professional development of mathematics teachers and to explore the role of ICT in the professional development of mathematics teachers. I followed the narrative inquiry research design under the qualitative research method. I prepared the in-depth interview schedule to collect authentic data for my research. The interview was conducted with four mathematics teachers selected by purposive sampling strategy to make data more valid. In this research participant’s narrations helped to find out the perception of teachers towards the role of ICT on teacher professional development (TPD). This research was done in Sindhupalchok district. I interpreted and analyzed the collected data with the different themes. Findings showed that different ICT tools helped to develop the professional skills of the mathematics teachers. In the teaching and learning process, teachers can use different tools like, the internet and computer, videos, mathematical applications (e.g.GeoGebra) etc. which also make them updated on the basis of changeable time. Different ICT tools can create problems for the teachers, it takes time to prepare and use and takes more economy. Teachers also have an important role to reduce the negative effect of ICT. Although the software is very beneficial for teaching in everyday sessions, it is highly expensive to purchase, and it takes more time to learn how to use it. It was discovered that mathematics teachers in the Sindhupalchok area improved their professional growth after using various tools and software available on the Internet. Different stakeholders have to play the role to increase the effectiveness of ICT on the professional development of mathematics teachers.Item Implementation of TPD training in english language teaching(Department of English Education, 2019) Bhandari, GitaThis research entitled Implementation of TPD Training in English Language Teaching was carried out to explore implementation and find out if the TPD training is helped by teachers or not. The present study was based on survey research design. To meet the objectives of the research, forty informants were selected using random purposive sampling strategy. A set of questionnaire consisting of both close ended and open ended question was used as tools for collecting data. The collected data were analyzed described statistically and descriptive. From the study, it has been found that teachers found themselves as highly motivated to apply new methods and techniques in teaching after the TPD training. This research shows that TPD training is essential in English language teaching (ELT). It has played vital role in their professional development of teachers. The status of TPD trained teachers in all aspects of language teaching was found satisfactory. According to them, training brought some remarkable changes in their preparation and use of teaching materials in language classroom e .g. using usually available and low cast materials, using games for teaching. After analyzing and interpreting the data, it was found that on the teachers are trained but the skill and knowledge obtained from the training are not applicable sometimes large classroom, school environment diversity or students many cause and difficulty. This thesis is organized into five chapters. The first chapter deals with the introduction of the study along with the background of the study, statement of the problem, objectives of the study, research questions, significance of the study, delimitations of the study and operational definition of key terms. The second chapter contains the review of related literature, implications of the review of the study and conceptual framework. Similarly, the third chapter includes methods and procedures of the study. Likewise, the fourth chapter deals the analysis and interpretation of the data. Finally, chapter five comprises the findings, conclusion and recommendation in the policy related, practice related and further researches. At the end, the references and appendices are included.Item Novice English language teachers' perceptions towards the role of micro-teaching for real teaching(Department of English Education, 2022) Bhattarai, RajanIt is believed that microteaching is a space for the prospective teachers to learn pedagogic skills required for real teaching. Yet, the practice of it looks questionable because of not doing effective application. Hence, the present study entitled “Novic English Language Teachers’ Perceptions towards the Role of Micro-Teaching for Real Teaching” was conducted to find out the perceptions of novice English language teachers on the role of micro-teaching in real teaching and the challenges in implementing micro-teaching activities. The study was conducted using survey research design. The population of the study consisted all English language teachers who have done microteaching in their academic studies. Among them, only 45 teachers were chosen as sample using simple random procedure. A set of questionnaire was used as a tool for data collection. The collected data were analysed both statistically and descriptively. Findings of the study showed that teachers perceived micro-teaching plays important roles for prospective teachers to learn skills required for real teaching. However, teachers also realized the issues in the implementation of micro-teaching. The issues are related to practice, supervisor, pattern of micro-teaching. This study comprises altogether five chapters. The first chapter is introductory part which includes background of the study, statement of the problems, objectives of the study, research questions, significance of the study, delimitations of the study and operational definition of the key terms. Similarly, second chapter includes the review of theoretical and empirical literature and its implications as well as the conceptual framework. In the same way, third chapter deals with the method and procedures of the study under which design of the study, population sample and sampling strategy, research tools, data collection procedures, data analysis and interpretation procedure as well as ethical considerations are mentioned. Likewise, fourth chapter comprises analysis and interpretation of results. Fifth chapter includes summary of findings, conclusion and recommendations. Finally, the references and appendices are included.Item Pluralization in English and Magar Kham : A Comparative Study(Faculty of English Education, 2011) Oli, Tek BahadurThis present research entitled 'Pluralization in English and Magar attempts to find out the process of pluralization system in Magar Kham language. I have also made an attempt to find out the differences between English and Magar Kham language pluralization process in regular form. To carry out this research, the researcher has collected one hundred and forty noun words from twenty-eight different categories and they were translated and changed in to plural form in Magar Kham lanuage by Magar Kham speakers. Twenty-men and twenty women were selected to translate and pluralize the words in Magar Kham from Dhime VDC ward no 7 Dhanarasi, as the population of the study. A set of one hundred and forty words have been administered to the selected forty Magar Kham speakers individually and they have translated the words in Magar Kham and made them plural. The data obtained from them has been tabulated and analyzed using the simple statistical tools of percentage. On the basis of analysis and interpretation of data, findings and recommendations were presented here. In this research work, all most all respondents responded in every word they added the letter 'ra' in singular form of uncountable nouns to make them plural in Magar Kham language. No irregular form of pluralization process was found in the Magar Kham. Like in Nepali and English language, plural from of uncountable nouns was not found. Decreasing condition of Magar Kham speakers was found main problems in Magar Kham language during the study. Due to the cross cultureal environment and impact of Nepali language, the original vocabularies of Magar Kham are disappearing. It was found that Magar Kham is written using Devanagari script but sound system of Magar Kham does not match to Devanagari script. xi This thesis has been divided into four chapters, the first chapter deals with introduction and general background and the second chapter deals with the methodology procedures of data collection. Likewise, chapter three is related to the analysis and interpretation of data. In this chapter, the data has been tabulated and analyzed. The last chapter is the account of findings and recommendations
