Abstract
The growing demand of energy due to socio-economic growth and industrialization, causes a gradual increment in the use of renewable energy resources. Among the renewable energy sources, power production from solar PV system is dominating other resources due to clean, greener and easy easier production process. But the solar photovoltaic system power output is environment dependent i.e., the power output from solar photovoltaic system depends on the solar irradiance, temperature, humidity, geographic location etc. The most prominent factor that affects the power output is solar irradiance. The solar radiation received by the solar photovoltaic module surface can be affected by moving cloud, nearby building, leaf falling from tree, dust etc. In this thesis, a reference solar PV array system of 6.72 kW is simulated using MATLAB/Simulink.
Description
The result of this study show that the performance parameters of the solar photovoltaic array are greatly impacted by the changes in irradiance level received by the solar photovoltaic module surface. Under non-uniform solar irradiance conditions, the P-V characteristics of solar photovoltaic array exhibit multiple peaks in the characteristics curve. Under defined conditions of shading, when the irradiance level is reduced by 50% from Standard Test Condition (STC),
