There were 28 statements of opinionaire. Each statement, five point Likert scale were used. The statistical device - test with 0.05 level of significance was applied to find out the opinions of studentteachers towards teaching practice course and t-test with 0.05 level of significance was applied to find the significance difference between male student-teachers and female student teachers. The major findings and conclusion of the study are summarized as follows, there was positive attitude towards teaching practice course and no significance difference between attitude of male student-teachers and female student-teachers towards teaching practice course.Item Attitudes of Teachers and Students towards Continuous Assessment System(Faculty of Education, Tribhuvan University Kirtipur, 2016) Rana, YaduThis study was on Attitudes of Teachers' and Students' Towards Continuous Assessments System at Lower Secondary Level. The finding of the study show that 70% teachers have positive attitudes towards continuous assessment system. But these teachers 30% who did not proper idea about continuous assessment system. They have negative attitudes, similarly, 30% students have positive attitudes towards continuous assessment system. This thesis consists of five chapters. The first chapter includes the background of the study, statement of the problem, research questions, significance of the study, delimitations of the study, operational definition of the key terms. The second chapter deals with the review of related literature and conceptual framework. The third chapter deals with methods and procedures of the study adopted during the research study, population and sample, sampling procedure, data collection tools, data collection procedures and data analysis and interpretation procedure. The fourth chapter deals with analysis and interpretation of results. The fifth chapter deals with conclusion and recommendations. In the final part of this thesis references and appendix are included.Item Diversity of Subject Matter and Teaching Social Studies(Faculty of Education Tribhuvan University Kritipur, Kathamandu, Nepal, 2016-04) Dahal, BasudevThe present study entitled, "Diversity of subject matter in teaching social studies” attempts to expose the scatterness of subject matter, classroom difficulties of teachers and students and causes and ways of solution of classroom difficulties. The researcher collected the data by using both primary and secondary sources using FGDs, unstructured interview, document study etc. This thesis consists of five chapters. Chapter-one presents the general background of the study, statement of problem, rationale of the study, objectives of the study, research questions, significance of the study, delimitations of the study and definitions of the terms used in the thesis. Chapter -two deals with the review of the related literature with theoretical literature review and empirical literature review. Chapter-three focuses on methods and procedures applied/adopted to conduct the study. It consists of design of the study, population and sample of the study, sampling procedures, sources of data, tools for data collection, process of data collection and the analysis and interpretation of the data. Chapter-four is devoted to the results and discussions of the data collected from informants through interview schedule. The data were analyzed and interpreted presenting them in tables . And summary, conclusions and implications drawn on the basis of analysis and interpretation of data which have been included in the last chapter. The implications have been presented for policy, practice and further research levels. Lastly some information about the components of study population was given in appendicesItem Effect of Collaborative Learning on Mathematics(Faculty of Education, Tribhuvan University Kirtipur, 2017) Yadav, Ram SagarThe major focus of this study was to explore "Effect of Collaborative Learning on Mathematics". The main objectives of the study were to compare the achievement of students taught through traditional and collaborative learning and to analyze there flection of teachers and students towards collaborative teaching. The design of the study was experiment non equivalent. The sample of the study was 53 students collaborative method made students easy to understand the subject matter. The Laliguras higher secondary school at 30 students and Srijarajan higher secondary school at 23 were the sample of the study students. The experimental group was taught using collaborative learning approach and control group was taught using traditional approach. The duration of experiment was 12 days. After completing the experiment achievement test was administered on both groups and mean scores were calculated. The differences in mean achievement score was tested using t-test for determining statistical significance between them. Then it was found that the collaborative learning strategy was better than the traditional approach learning mathematics and the collaborative method made students easy to understand thesubject matter.Item Strategies Used By Teachers to Uplift Low Grade Students Performance In English Language(Faculty of Education Tribhuvan University, Kirtipur Kathmandu, Nepal, 2017-04) Saud, Bhim SinghThis research entitled The Strategies Adopted by Teachers to Uplift Low Grade Students Performance in English Language was carried out to explore the strategies used by the teachers to uplift the low grade students. The sample of my study was ten teachers teaching at secondary schools of ten different schools of Kathmandu district. More specifically, 3 classes of one teacher from each school were observed. The schools were selected by using judgmental sampling procedure. The questionnaires and observation checklist were used. This study displays that the total 50 ELT teachers. 40 percent were used “Providing them clues in group discussion” 24 percent used mother tough . In the same way, the next main two strategies “Engaging them in group work with sense of co-operation” and “Providing students-wise tasks” were used for 22 percent of all strategies used for this purpose in class. Moreover, “Any other” comprised 4 percent which was observed for 13 times. 22 and 14 percent “Restructuring” and “Time gaining” respectively. It can be said that these strategies were mostly employed by the students because of lack adequate of linguistic knowledge and communicative capacity. This thesis has been divided into five different chapters. The first chapter, ( i. e. 'Introduction') includes the background of the study , statement of the problem, objectives, research questions, significance, delimitations of the study and operational definition of Key terms. Similarly, the second chapter deals with the Review of Related literature and conceptual framework. The third chapter deals with the methodology employed to conduct the study. It gives information about the design and methods of the study, population and sample, study area, sampling procedure, data collection tools, data collection procedure and data analysis and interpretation procedure. 11 Collected data were presented, analyzed and interpreted applying language and statistical tools like frequency and percentage in the fourth chapter. ccordingly, the fifth chapter concludes the whole study and put forwards some recommendations of the study at policy related, practice related and for further research. This chapter is followed by references and appendices to make the study reliable, valid and authentic.
